Service Termination
The Water Department is responsible for providing
water to the City, maintaining the water
distribution system and providing timely, accurate
bills to its customers. Maintenance of the
distribution system includes the repair of water
mains, storm and sanitary sewers within the City,
meter reading and installation, and billing and
collection of approximately 3,300 water and sewer
accounts. The Department also deals with regulatory
issues such as issuance of an annual water quality
report to all customers
and water quality testing.
The City of Highland Park has its own water
system which draws water from Lake St. Clair at an
intake station shared with the City of Grosse Pointe
Farms.
The Department’s customer service personnel
handles numerous requests from customers calling or
visiting the Department to stop or start services,
billing, main
breaks and sewer issues.
