The mission of the Public Works Department is to
maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment
in the City of
Highland Park.
Services provided by the city to achieve this
goal include oversight for trash pick up, yard
waste pick up and bulk waste pick up. The
Department of Public Works also has the general
responsibility for the following functions:
Construction and maintenance
of streets,
alleys, sidewalks public ways and buildings,
parks, curb strips, trees, shrubs
and public
grounds (including vacant lots).
